What’s on the Business Agenda for April 2012?
Hosted by Alastair Campbell, MD, The Ideal Marketing Company.
Main speaker – Jonathan Staples. Jonathan has a 20-year background in broadcasting which began on BBC local radio, leading on to Radio 4, BFBS, LBC Radio, ITN and Bloomberg Television. During his journalist days at LBC he worked alongside a stellar line-up of presenters including Angela Rippon, Michael Parkinson, Frank Bough and Trevor MacDonald. Later, his on-air work at ITN led to voiceover contracts on some of the biggest TV ad campaigns of the late 1990s. Jonathan’s personal experience of the big budgets involved in TV advertising led to the idea of offering the talents of a team of professional broadcasters direct to clients, by-passing the traditional route of using an ad agency. At the same time, the digital revolution slashed the cost of video production while the web has transformed the way in which we all source information.
Jonathan’s highly entertaining presentation – including a selection of vintage TV commercials – Jonathan will explain the benefits & pitfalls of choosing video as an effective communications medium. “The Business Agenda will be a useful group for anyone who is looking for new business ideas,” comments Mick Judge from the Innovation Centre. “It is important for local companies to have the opportunity to meet up and debate ideas, to work together and generate business – not just for themselves, but for the local economy.”
The Business Agenda is a new initiative from the Harborough based networking group Working Breakfast, a not for profit business organisation who meet weekly in both Leicester and Market Harborough with the aim of offering support to members and generating business leads.
