A local digital marketing expert, recently identified by LinkedIn as one of the best connected women in marketing using the platform, has announced that she will be running a series of social media seminars in Market Harborough over the coming months.
Jessica Shailes, Head of Digital Marketing at the Ideal Marketing Company was included in the national list of the ‘Top 5 most engaged women in marketing’ compiled by LinkedIn to celebrate International Women’s Day on 8th March.
To mark the award, Jessica will be hosting a range of half day courses for local businesses, including ‘The LinkedIn Masterclass’, which aims to provide an interactive insight into how LinkedIn can be used to help business growth.
The LinkedIn list was compiled for International Women’s Day (Sunday 8th March), and celebrates the social network’s most connected women in a variety of industries.
Jessica (30) of Market Harborough was delighted to be included in the list. “Social media is such a crowded marketplace that it is a real compliment to be named amongst such an influential group of people,” she comments. “It’s also great to highlight women who’ve used and embraced LinkedIn to further their careers or businesses.”
Women are regular users of social media, but figures show that far fewer women than men use LinkedIn. Jessica adds “Used properly, it can be such a valuable platform for businesses and individuals, whether you’re looking for a new job, creating links with other businesses or to promoting your own business.”
International Women’s Day is an annual celebration of the economic, political and social achievements of women, which also aims to raise awareness of the need for greater equality. This year’s theme was #makeithappen, encouraging effective action for advancing and recognising women.
Jessica has been Head of Digital Marketing at The Ideal Marketing Company since 2013. She also runs her own online company, Everything for Redheads which sells products developed especially for red hair. She has always been fascinated by technology, social studies and psychology, long before social media existed and so working in digital marketing has been a natural fit.
The LinkedIn Masterclass that Jessica is running aims to show local business owners, managers and employees how best to use the platform as well as answering any questions about LinkedIn and their business.
The event is running on Friday 24th April from 10am – 1pm at The Waterfront, Market Harborough. To book your place or find out more, visit www.idealmarketingcompany.com/seminars, or call The Ideal Marketing Company on 01858 44 55 43.
