Write down what people ask for
The best way to listen to people’s 60 seconds is to listen with a pen. Take time to write down the names of the person and the specific thing they have asked for. By doing this, it becomes clear who asks for something specific and who asks for ‘nothing in particular’. This may be enough to trigger a name or a company – or it may prompt a potential lead later in the week.
Spend 10 minutes after each meeting looking over the list.
Either straight after the meeting or just before the next week’s meeting take time to review what you have written down. It means you can probably walk into the next meeting with some strong leads for the group.
Challenge yourself
If you like a challenge, why not set a challenge for passing the most leads in the group one week, or of passing a lead to somebody who you have not passed a lead to before? It will help increase the overall number of leads and in the long term will mean you get more leads yourself.
